Played football W/Doug @ So.Gate pk. when we were 7 yrs.old.He was a big strong tall man @ that age compared 2 everyone else.I was a skinny little guy but very fast.So he played lineman,& I played running back.We ran all our running plays behind him because he blocked out 1/2 Z opponents line by himself.I got a lotta credit for scoring touchdowns, which he shoulda got.Incidentally,Z Quarterback was bruce Hickey.Other players on that team were,Les Fitch,Bobby Lefler,Keith Engstrom.Later Vic DeBrower,Jim Kleinpel,Eddie Fisher,Mickey Mills,Ed Lubinski & John Stafford.Honorable mention 2 Joe Glad.Doug was always easy going.A gentle giant as they say.Our paths crossed many times over Z yrs. & it was always pleasurable.Z oldest friends R always Z best friends.I happen 2 B @ Doug & Donna's(also an old friend)Improving there landscape 4 about 3-4 weeks just before he passed. And we got 2 reminisce several times.I arranged a get 2gether w/Doug,Vic,Jim K. & Lyn Schlitz, that was nice.In Z 50 yrs.I new Doug.I can't ever remember us having a disagreement.

                                                                                        Thanks Doug,UR Friend Marv

I really miss Doug and Ryan, became good friends after moving to Anaheim Hills. We coached Soccer and Baseball together, our kids car pooled together to school. Did fishing trips to Mammoth, motorcycle riding on the weekends. My youngest son named his 1st son Bodey Ryan. We miss them both, I think of them a lot..........

This year at our 50th reunion we took our St. Helen's picture.  It was nice having Mike Monteleone, Bernie Rechs, Larry Wurth, Duane Lucca, Elizabeth French, Sonia Flohr and myself in the picture.

It was missing you in the picture but not in our hearts.  We were all thinking of you.  Missed you buddy!
